Bullying is a problem, A BIG PROBLEM! Not just in the United States
BUT around the world. It is a shame that the children have to go through such persecutions from others. Some parents do not even know that their children are being bullied because they may keep it to themselves. Some parents may not know that their children are the
Aggressor, that they
BULLY because no one says a word. Some parents are aware that their children BULLY but may be in denial. Sad to say some parents may not take matters into their hands to straighten out their children until something happens, until something tragic happens. I notice also that some parents are
VERY INSENSITIVE TO BULLYING. When some parents are told that their child does bullying, they may mention that the other child is a wimp.
That attitude is totally unacceptable. Children need to be held accountable for their actions! Parents need to be aware of their attitude towards bullying because their child may follow suit.
Every man, woman, and child should have the facts about BULLYING! What are they? Let's see!
THE FACTS! NOTHING BUT THE FACTS! Eleven (11) Facts about BULLYING!
(1) Did you know that there are over 3.2 million students whom are victims of bullying each and every year? Yes!
(2) Did you know that there are approximately 160,000 teens that actually skip school every day because of bullying? Yes!
(3) Did you know that seventeen (17 %) of American students have reported being bullied two to three times a month within the school semester? Yes! (4) Did you know that one in four teachers see nothing wrong with bullying and will only intervene about four (4%) of the times. Yes!
(5) Did you know by the age of fourteen less than thirty (30%) and forty (40%) of girls will talk to their peers about bullying? Yes!
(6) Did you know that over sixty seven (67%) of students believe that school respond poorly to bullying, with a high percentage of students believing that adult help is , not often enough, not enough and is not effective. Yes! (
7) Did you know that seventy one (71%) of the students report incidents of bullying as a problem at their school? Yes !
(8) Did you know that ninety (90%) of forth through eighth graders report being victims of bullying? (
9) Did you know that one in ten students drop out of school because of repeated bullying. Yes!
(10) Did you know that as boys age they are less likely to feel sympathy for victims of bullying? Yes! In fact they are more likely to add to the problem rather than solve it? Yes!
(11) Did you know that physical bullying increases in elementary school and that peaks in middle school and declines in high school? Yes! But did you know that
VERBAL ABUSE , on the other hand remains constant? Yes!
BULLYING AND SUICIDE! Where do I go? Who do I talk to? Will they understand? When will it stop? How does my parent look at me? How will my classmates look at me? These may be some of the questions that are going through the minds of these young, precious kids that have to deal with bullying. My heart goes out to them because they may feel that there will be no end to the situation, no end to this madness. Sad to say some children, these children use what they may consider
