Are you Sleep deprived? Do you get enough REST?

He's up all night watching TV. She's on the internet checking her emails and it is 2AM in the morning. He's scrolling through the post on Facebook and yawning at the same time. Her head is hurting and throbbing at a master rate. Her heart is racing and it feels as if it is going to jump through her body. His eyes are blood shot red. His body is shaking and jittery. Do you feel this way sometimes? Do you feel drowsy during the day? Does it come from drinking too much? No! Does it come from smoking too much? No! Does it comes from consuming too much caffeine? No! What does it come from? It comes from not getting enough sleep. It comes from being sleep deprived. Are you sleep deprived? Do you get enough sleep? Not getting enough sleep can be VERY,VERY DANGEROUS. It has been said that driving under the influence of NOT GETTING ENOUGH SLEEP is like driving under the influence of ALCOHOL! WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF SLEEP DEPRIVATION? Some lack of sleep symptoms have a tendency to vary depending on how long and how often we are sleep deprived. It is fair to say that sleep deprivation affects the physical mental and the emotional levels. Lack of sleep can affect a range of negative things like: pain thresholds, immune functioning, and glucose metabolism. THE PHYSICAL SYMPTOMS~The lack of sleep may leave us struggling with low energy during the light hours. It may be possible that poor sleepers are twice as likely to have low energy and fatigue. In fact poor sleepers struggle with reduced energy compared to good sleepers. SLEEPINESS as opposed to tiredness is another physical symptom. This is demonstrated by our tendency to fall asleep or having trouble staying awake during the day. In some ways common, light headedness can also be a consequence of not getting enough sleep. In some cases headaches, and tension are found to increase after poor sleep; this may be accompanied by dizziness and light headedness. THE MENTAL SYMPTOMS~ In a mental way having a lack of sleep or poor sleep may result in poorer concentration and memory. In research studies people who have a lack of sleep have shown impairments in both sustained attention and memory performance. THE EMOTIONAL ISSUES~ People who don't get enough rest may be more irritable and in a lower mood because of lack of sleep. People who don't get enough sleep, those who are sleep deprived have a tendency to have unstable patterns of behavior. It is not possible to ward off sleep deprivation with caffeine or other stimulants drugs. It is important to maintain a healthy sleep cycle. VOILA! THERE YOU HAVE IT. MY TAKE ON THE MATTER.
