Where are the good police?
Where are the good Police Officers? Are there any? These are good questions to ask! The answer! YES there ares some good Police Officers. Where are they? They are right in our back yards, in our households and in our neighborhoods. Many of you have read my blog post written in July 2014. Do you trust the Po Po? In my article I have pointed out the negative actions that some Police Officers have performed. Through the years their wrong doings have been highlighted and revealed to and through the public! Those wrong doings have definitely left a bitter taste in the mouths of the members of society! I must admit that I have to be fair and SHOW THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COIN! Even though there may be a rotten side of the apple, most of the time there is a significant amount of the apple that is untainted and edible. In this article I will share and highlight THE GOOD POLICE OFFICERS! There are good Police Officers that work extremely hard each and everyday. They truly put there lives on the line and seriously take to heart the oath that they have sworn to PROTECT AND SERVE!
For some reasons, society focus's on the negatives in the world. The reason for this may be for ratings, that of course which will generate lots and lots of M-O-N-E-Y! The media plays a very important role in this! News broadcast, Tabloid television and newspapers, the internet and things alike.
I THINK WE FORGET SOMETIMES! I think we forget that Police Officers are just like you and me. What do I mean? Police Officers bleed just like we do, which shows that they are human. As human individuals that are imperfect, we are prone to certain things. We make mistakes, we are tempted everyday, we make wrong decisions, we say stupid and ignorant things, etc....WE ALSO DO GOOD THINGS. We sacrifice for people, we are kind, do acts of justice, and sacrifice for individuals that we may not even know.
THERE ARE COUNTLESS! There are countless members of the police force that truly take their jobs seriously. How do I know? I know because we can take a look at the men and women IN BLUE that have sacrificed their lives to help and to TRULY PROTECT AND SERVE!
LET'S TAKE A LOOK AT SOME! A New York Police officer (white), YES a white, New York Police Officer's heart compelled him to buy a pair of all season boots for a homeless (black) man. Why did he do that? The Police officer said that as he looked at the man's feet, he could see the blisters. He saw that the man was completely out in the cold without shoes. THIS STORY DID TOUCH MY HEART because this police officer out of the kindness of his heart decided to buy this man a pair of boots because of what he saw! I would say, going beyond the line of duty, would you not say! FOR ANYONE WONDERING WHY I MENTIONED THAT THE COP WAS WHITE AND THE HOMELESS MAN WAS BLACK WAS TO ITERATE THAT NOT ALL COPS OR NYPD COPS ARE RACIST!
THIS NEXT STORY! This next story really pulled on my heart strings. A West Valley, Utah Police Officer was around the corner and heard that there had been an accident. When he got there, there was a woman pinned under a bus with severe injuries. At first all he saw was a sock and a white tennis shoe. As he tried to help, he realized that both of her legs were severely crushed and tightly pinned. He took his body, slid it underneath the vehicle on the very cold, and icy ground and tried to help. There was nothing he could physically do. The woman asked him not to leave so he stayed and took hold of her hand, consoling her until she was freed. He talked to her and consoled the lady and told her that everything would be alright. This Police Officer could not see the woman's face because it was covered in blood. All he saw were her legs, which he could basically see into. He could see the muscle and the tendon and the knee cap. She could not move. I FEEL THAT WAS BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY. WHAT A KIND AND LOVING JESTER IT IS TO CONSOLE A WOMAN IN DIRE PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL NEED! KUDOS TO HIM!
ON TO THE NEXT! Kansas Missouri Police department! There was a little boy wandering outside around midnight with just a diaper on. Later on the police found out that the little boy is autistic and they reunited him with his rightful family. While the police were searching for the little boy's family, the little boy slept in officers Huth's arms. AWWW ! Isn't that so sweet! He didn't have to hold him in his arms, he coould have laid him, or put him in the back seat of the squad car ! Yes, there are some nice, kind, compassionate and good Police Officers out there!
YOU KNOW I CAN'T LEAVE THE POLICE OFFICERS FROM THE DMV OUT! This story comes from the District of Columbia. Here is the short version. As most people know, last year on September 16, 2013 there was a mass shooting at the D.C.'s Navy Yard's military facility. A gunman with a severe mental disorder decided to go into the D.C. Navy Yard facility and start shooting. In his quest, he killed over twelve people and injured three. At around 8:23AM the D.C.'s Metropolitan Police department was called for help. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ, POLICE OFFICERS VOLUNTEERED FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT! The gunman was in building 197 wondering around and shooting people on the floors. As the gunman went on his shooting spree he eventually encountered Two NCIS agents and two D.C Police Officers. When the gunman saw them he released a ricochet of bullets hitting one of the D.C. Officers (this officer was pulled out of the line of fire and survived). After this instance, the D.C. Police Emergency Response Team officer Dorian DeSantis among others were called in. Eventually, the gunman jumped out from one of the desks and fired at DeSantis from approximately five feet away, shooting him once in his tactical vest, and the three officers returned fire. DeSantis was uninjured by the gunshot. Alexis (the gunman) was fatally shot in the head by DeSantis during the gunfight, and his death was later confirmed. THESE D.C. POLICE OFFICERS RISKED THEIR LIVES IN THE LINE OF DUTY TO SAVE OTHERS. THERE ARE SOME POLICE OFFICERS WHO DO TAKE THEIR JOBS SERIOUSLY. THEY FULFILL THEIR DUTY TO PROTECT AND SERVE. JUST IMAGINE HOW MANY OTHER LIVES WOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN IF IT WERE NOT FOR THE OFFICERS IN BLUE. HONEST CITIZENS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD THANK THESE OFFICERS FOR THE JOBS THAT THEY DO. PROTECTING THE PUBLIC'S INTEREST.
I HAVE OFTEN WONDERED could I ever be a Police Officer? If I could be a cop for a day, even a week or a month, what would I do? How would I feel and how would I act! I can't put myself in their shoes so I do not know. I can only imagine that it can be a scary place sometimes dealing with the CRAZY PUBLIC! My hat truly goes off and out to all of those GOOD cops around the world and especially in the DMV. I hope we meet up sometimes so that you can PROTECT AND SERVE ME!
